BIOGRAPHY
Shawn and Nancy Nichols are the Worship Pastors here at Calvary Temple Worship Center. Pastor Shawn is also the director of the School of Worship. They came to Calvary Temple in June 2004 shortly after their marriage in May of 2004.

Shawn is a native of Florida, where his parents, Ron and Linda Nichols, have been pastors for over 30 years. He attended Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, a liberal arts high school in Jacksonville, FL. Multiple opportunities were afforded to Shawn as a result of attending DA; conducting experience, accompanying, arranging scores for musicals, Broadway-type experiences on stage, singing in Lincoln Center, New York, as well as traveling to Europe to perform the Mozart Requiem in Vienna and Prague. He was able to sing back up for Michael Bolton with his high school jazz ensemble, Rhythm Junction. In the spring of 1996 he won a music composition contest and was flown to Washington D.C. to perform for the group that sponsored the contest. After high school, Shawn continued his study of voice, piano, and choral conducting at Stetson University (Deland, FL) for two years before transferring to Lee University (Cleveland, TN). He graduated in July 2000 with a BA in music with a vocal emphasis. While at Lee University, Shawn was privileged to be apart of the Lee University Campus Choir directed by Dr. David Horton. Shawn traveled with Campus Choir to Israel as well as to numerous churches across the country. After graduation, Shawn took the music pastor position at Dayton Church of God, Dayton, TN and served there for four years. He met his wife, Nancy, while in Dayton.

Pastor Shawn has a vision to see an Army of Worship raised up in the Modesto community. This army will not only minister to the congregation of Calvary Temple but also to the community through worship evangelism. The major war that is going on right now is not in the Middle East. It is a spiritual war over who will receive worship. The enemy has been fighting since the beginning for the worship that is only due unto the Lord and he is relentless in his pursuit of this adoration. The Army of Worship realizes this and is not backing down or being passive. They are boldly proclaiming the praises of the Most High God and just like in the days of old, they know that as they praise God, He fights the battle for them.
